Calculations use 2026 German tax rates and Tax Class I (single, no dependents): married couples using joint assessment (Tax Classes III/IV/V) will see different figures and aren't modeled here. Taxable income follows the 2026 payroll (Lohnsteuer) method for statutory health insurance: gross salary minus the standard employee and special-expenses lump sums and the Vorsorgepauschale for your pension, health and care contributions. Health insurance uses the average 2.9% supplementary rate; your own fund's rate may differ slightly. For precise figures, consult a Steuerberater or the official BMF calculator.
