Most engineers progress from feature delivery into owning a core platform module, then into staff or principal engineering roles that set architecture standards across a bank's or vendor's platform. Some move from traditional banking-software engineering into blockchain specifically once they build up domain fluency in Zug's Crypto Valley cluster.
It helps but isn't always required to get in the door, especially at product-focused firms.
